About Dog Harnesses and Leashes

Surely you love your pet and recognize its independent personality, but anyway it can not do without a collar and a leash. It is neither an owner’s caprice, nor an education attribute. It is mandatory safety equipment. If you have a durable leash of high quality your four-footed pankster will not be lost. It will always be under your control and will elude many troubles.

Such accessories are made of various fabrics. They are ultra-light but leash your dog reliably, no matter how strong it is.

Metal items look flossier, particularly if a designer took part in manufacturing. Just imagine how beautiful will be your pet with a fancy overgild leash with exquisite links. If you prefer metal, you should pay attention to the points of link fixturing. If they are not welded, forget about reliability since they can get unbent at any time. Quality metal items are the most durable. Moreover, experienced dog-fanciers assure that they can break a habit of chumping the leash. Your dog would hardly like the taste of metal. In spite of all these accomplishments it will be difficult for toy dogs to carry such a burden. So, they can not be recommended for long walks.

If you are a lucky owner of two pets you can do well with a slip. Two leashes in one, with two hooks, can be very handy and practical. If your pet regularly takes part in exhibitions, you will surely need a special exhibition leash. If you go to the city, it is appropriate to use a short leash to keep your pankster close. And the handiest leash is a retractable one. It is an excellent option both for walks and for exercises because you can control the length as appropriate.

The hook plays a leading role. It must be made of a quality material. There is a rule: the bigger is the dog, the bigger is the hook. But if your pet is of an ornamental breed, it is not so hard to choose. You can hardly imagine a pug-dog or Chihuahua, who can break this piece of metal.

Whatever leash you choose it must be accompanied with a collar or harness. The latter is easie to walk with. Impatient four-footed pets are so happy to go for a walk that they can not sit calmly. They want to run, jump and make a fuss. A collar, which constrains these impulses, can be strangling the dog and make it feel uncomfortable. On the other hand, hardness does not disturb the dog and also is good for posture. It spreads the load to the chest when your pet is pulling you ahead.  Besides, it does not rub the sensitive neck skin in contrast with collars.
