About Dog Jackets, Anoraks and Blankets

One can not trust interseasonable sun. These are the periods when we are at risk of catching cold if we believe the bright but cold sunlight. And dogs are the same. That is why it is so important to protect your pet against cold. Stylish and cosy dog jackets will help with it.

For relatively warm days you can use light-weight jackets made of velour, suede, slicker and oil-silk. In such clothing neither wind nor rain can spoil your walk, and your faithful companion will feel great both outside and at home.

When first frost or early thaw come, you should choose for your pet a warmer outfit protecting against cold. Such models are made of water-proof fabrics and filled with moss foam or fleece. The filling has insulating effect, but does not impede skin breathing. The upper part can be made not only from jacket fabric but also from genuine or artificial leather. You can see examples of warm clothes in DogModa’s catalogue. For extremely severe weather you can choose a model with artificial fur lining. Jackets with furred hood is a good option, too. Most models have an detachable hood, so that a dog can wear such a jacket in warmer weather.  These outfits have discreet sole-coloured design and are perfect for boys.

However not all animals like warm outfits. Some toffee-nosed pets refuse flatly to put clothes for outside. Perhaps, your pet does not like long sleeves which can hinder movements.  You can solve this problem with a blanket. It does not constrain freedom of the dog and is a sound compromise between comfort and safety. It is also a good clothing for street exercises because a dog wearing it can make any exercise. It is not for nothing that experts recommend to habituate a puppy to warm clothes starting with a blanket.

Blankets come in two types. For warm weather you can use jeans and knitted models and models made of close texture. For cool weather you should choose a multiple-layer model filled with moss foam or foam plastic made of water-proof fabrics. Quilted models are very popular now. They protect back, chest and stomach of the dog against wind and cold. And do not worry about sleevelessness. Dog paws are much less exposed to the cold than other parts of body.
