What can be better in a cold weather than a soft and tender sweater embracing you? It is likely that your pet will agree with this idea and will like a stylish new pullover or a nice jumper.

These clothes are appropriate for interseasonal period when the weather is not cold but is not very ward either. These are the days when small dogs are the most exposed to catarrhal diseases. A nice cosy outfit can protect them.

To make your pet like a new piece of clothing you should select it responsibly. When choosing the size, rely not only on back length but also on circumferences of chest, neck and (preferably) belly. Dogs of the same height and length can differ in constitution. Some of us try to keep a pet slim. Even a tiny pullover will fit such a dog. Other owners think that a dog should be well-heeled so that a model they would like to choose will be strangling their dogs.

You should pay special attention at the neckline. It must not be too tight. Otherwise it will be stifling your dog and it will not want to put the outfit once again. You should also think about the cuffs. If they are too tight your little friend will be uncomfortable. If they are too loose, the little one can be entrapped and find it difficult to move. A very good option is cuffs with an elastic band, which should not be too tight.

Do not forget about lining. It should be soft and slick. If the lining is scratchy, your pet will never like this piece of clothing because it will stick, bite and rub its skin especially the most vulnerable skin on the belly.

But this is not yet the main problem. There are so many cuts, colours, fabrics, ornaments that it is so difficult to choose. If you need a sweater for walks in the street you should take a wool model made of dark shades. Some models are provided with hoods and fancy scarves which are not only cold-proofing but also are a stylish complement for the outfit.
